Excursion to Zubkov's battery

On the way from Novorossiysk to Gelendzhik on the rocky Cape Penai stands a modest monument - a stele in the form of a Red Star. This is a tribute to the memory of the sailors-artillerymen who stood to death at this border for a whole year. A tribute to the 394 battery, better known as Captain Zubkov's battery.
This is a very beautiful place: juniper trees, flowers, silver waves of a gray mavel. I don’t want to think about war at all.
But in 1942-43, the frequency of shelling by fascist artillery and aviation of these places was such that one day a shell fell directly into the barrel of our gun.
You will learn about this and other interesting stories on our tour.
On the way we will make a stop at the monument “Defense Frontier”, the tragic story of the sinking of the Black Sea squadron in 1918, I will tell you at the monument to the “Sailors of the Revolution”.
