City Museum of Local History

The museum was founded in October 1979, on the initiative of employees of the Gorodovikovo district party committee. Initially, it had the status of a national museum, since April 1, 1984, the People's Museum of the city of Gorodovikovsk became a branch of the Kalmyk Republican Museum of Local History named after Professor N.N. Palmov. The history of Bolshederbetovsky ulus (now Gorodnikovsky district) is little known, only in recent years (10 years) we have access to many archival documents revealing the true history of our region. This is the theme most interesting to our visitors.
