Central mosque "Heart of Chechnya" named after Akhmat Kadyrov

Grozny, Chechen Republic

In the heart of Grozny, on the picturesque bank of the Sunzha River, stretches one of the most majestic mosques in Russia - the Central Mosque "Heart of Chechnya" named after Akhmat Kadyrov. It is not just a religious center, but also a symbol of the revival of the city, peace and spiritual strength of the Chechen people.

Built in the classic Ottoman style, the mosque impresses with harmony of forms and grandeur. Its appearance is inspired by the Sultanahmet Blue Mosque in Istanbul, but, as many travelers note, it surpasses its famous progenitor in interior decoration and atmosphere. The central dome with a height of 32 meters is surrounded by four minarets, each 63 meters, and the walls are decorated with snow-white marble and red granite. Inside, the elegance of the paintings, made in the traditional Chechen ornament “bustam” and gold sputtering of the highest standard, is striking.

Of particular interest are 36 crystal chandeliers made of Swarovski crystals. The largest of them is eight meters high, symbolizing the Kaaba shrine in Mecca, while others repeat the forms of the cult mosques of Medina and Jerusalem. Their light is reflected on the patterned domes, creating a feeling of celestial radiance.

Amazing mosque, conquered by its majesty! Incredibly beautiful, both outside and inside. Inside - quiet, cozy and calm, - shares the impression of the tourist Anna.

The mosque is surrounded by a huge park of 14 hectares - with flower beds, fountains and shady alleys. This is a place where you can not only admire the architectural perfection, but also relax, feel harmony and peace. In the evening hours, when the lights turn on, the Heart of Chechnya shines with a soft golden light, reflected in the water and floating over the city.

This miracle looks especially beautiful at night – when everything around glows and shines, it is impossible to remain indifferent, writes a guest from Moscow.

The mosque is open to tourists. Here, traditions and rules are strictly observed - women can take long dresses and headscarves at the entrance, and men must be in modest clothes. For believers there are separate entrances, areas of ablution and cozy rooms for prayer.

Despite its relatively young history - the mosque was opened in 2008 - it has already become the main attraction of Grozny and one of the visiting cards of the Caucasus.

There is peace, peace, and at the same time pride that the people have managed to revive such beauty. This is really the heart of Chechnya, the visitors wrote.

Visit the mosque closer to sunset – when the city is immersed in a soft light and thousands of lights light up around the mosque. It is a sight that will remain in memory forever.
