366810, Republic of Chechnya, Nadterekny district, village Nadtereknoye, A. Mamakayev str., 23.

About the company:

Arbi Shamsudinovich Mamakaev (1918-1958) was a famous Chechen poet, the creator of a new form of versification in Vainakh poetry. The Literary and Memorial Museum of A. Mamakayev was founded in 1989 as a people’s museum in the village of Nadterekhnye (Laxa-Nevre) of the Chechen Republic. The director is Eduard Mamakaev.

In the most difficult years for the republic, the Mamakaev Museum, despite all the adversity and lack of funding, continued to grow thanks to the initiative of its creators and the community of the district.

The nine working rooms of the museum house more than two thousand exhibits telling not only about Arbi and his literary heritage, but also about the historical past - life, culture, etc.

The museum is a complex of a restored residential building of the late nineteenth century, in which A. Mamakayev was born and grew up; outbuildings, a memorial garden with trees planted by famous writers, scientists, cultural figures, public and state figures, a bust on a marble pedestal against the background of a stylized Chechen traditional stone tower. The living rooms and the office of A. Mamakaev were restored to their former appearance, as they were during the poet’s lifetime.
