Dress code or “With their own charter, they do not go to another’s monastery”

Description:

Hello, dear reader! Since the creation of mankind, people have adhered to the moral principles sent down by the Creator for His creations. Those who believe in God are the ones who believe in God. A person who does not believe in the Creator in essence denies, does not recognize the authority of God’s commands and can adhere to them, or may not adhere to them if they contradict his subjective morality. But how do you know what a society that has both sides should do? For one thing, there can be poison for another. For example, there is a dress code and a person tries to dress in the way that is customary in his religion and culture. Today we will consider the question: do you need to observe the norms of the society you want to visit? There is an interesting proverb in Russian: “You don’t go to someone else’s monastery with your own charter,” and I think most people will agree with this proposal.

If you go to the monastery in a swimsuit, where it is customary to hide your body from prying eyes, then at least you will be put out by the gates. As a monastery, you can take as a basis any society, be it a family, community, clan, nation or country. In a society where for a long time their foundations about the understanding of good and bad, permissible and forbidden, are interested in preserving their foundations and rules that led them to their harmony. If a person violates them, then he attempts to collapse the harmony that has developed in society. You won’t see a person in the gym lifting a bar in a tuxedo, or children swimming in the pool in school uniforms. The picture will turn out to be stupid and deserve the disapproval of others, because if you do not blame stupid things, then in the end they will become commonplace in this society, as it has become commonplace in the Western world to marry a car or marry a person with animals. There is a moral framework that dictates the rules for distinguishing black from white. However, if in secular society this morality can be subject to change, then God’s morality is unchangeable. A society that adheres to God’s morals tries to preserve it as a guarantee of a happy future for its children and will strictly protect the principles given to them by God. There is no shame in observing the rules of conduct in a given society, provided they do not contradict objective morality. If in an isolated society of an African tribe it is customary to go naked, which is contrary to God’s commands, then there is no need to be naked visiting their lands. But if this tribe will show aggression towards you, it is better to refrain from visiting the lands of this tribe.

For a traveler, it is advisable to get acquainted in advance with the culture, basic norms and rules of human behavior in the society he wants to visit. It is worth doing this for the following reasons:

1. "Public disapproval": Locals may react negatively to behavior that is contrary to their cultural norms. This can lead to social condemnation and deterioration of relations with the local population, as well as to denial of service in restaurants, hotels or other tourist places.

2. “Legal consequences”: In certain countries, cultural violations can result in legal sanctions, including fines or even imprisonment. For example, in some countries of the Middle East, fines can be imposed for violating the dress code.

3. "Physical safety": In cases of violation of local traditions, there is a risk of a threat to the physical safety of the tourist. This is especially true in areas with strong religious or cultural beliefs.

4. "Loss of respect": Tourists who disrespect local customs may lose respect from locals. This can affect their travel experience and create a negative impression of the trip.

5. “Loss of cultural property”: Massive violation of local traditions by tourists can lead to the loss of cultural values and identity of the region. This can negatively affect the cultural heritage and identity of the local population.

It is important to remember that respecting local traditions and customs helps create a positive experience for both tourists and locals. It promotes mutual understanding and respect between cultures.
