Gryazovets Museum of Local Lore was opened on April 29, 1978, initially as a folk museum, organized on a voluntary basis by local historians. Then it became a branch of the VGIAH Museum-Reserve. The museum is engaged in the study and promotion of knowledge on the history of Gryazovets and Gryazovets district from ancient times to the present day. The main topics: the influence of monasteries on the socio-economic development of our region, especially such large and well-known as Pavlo Obnorsky, Kornelievo-Kamelsky, Arsenievo-Kamelsky; the formation and development of the city (originally the repair of Gryazvitsky in the beginning of the XVI century, then the commercial village of Gryazlevitsy) as a commercial and administrative center located on the famous Moscow-Arkhangelogorod highway; the development of the region's economy and primarily the main industry in the past - flax breeding; features of local nature and protected areas; the creativity of talented artists, artists and land. |
The building of the museum is the only object of historical and cultural heritage of federal significance on the territory of the city of Gryazovets (list of 20.02.1995). Built in sir. XIX century at the expense of the local merchant Razumovsky-Mashaldin for use in trade and other commercial purposes. The building is 2-storey, has 2 wings in the form of the letter "G", the left wing is empty and requires overhaul. |

At the estate there is a park - a monument of samdovo-park art of the XIX century. In the estate passed the childhood of St. Ignatius Bryanchaninov (in the world Dmitry Alexandrovich Bryanchaninov), one of the most revered figures of the Russian Orthodox Church, listed as a saint in 1988.
