Gurzuf Park in the city of Guzuf

p. Gurzuf ul. Leningradskaya, 10

Description:

Gurzuf Park for the richness of vegetation and beauty is among the best parks of the South Bank. The park is located in the western part of the Gurzuf Amphitheater, in the mouth of the valley of the Avundy River. This is one of the first parks laid down on the South Bank after the inclusion of Crimea into Russia. In 1808, Novorossiysk Governor-General Duke Armand Richelieu built a manor here. Since its foundation, 140 species and forms of rare dendroflora have been preserved.

In the most picturesque places of the park, almost 10 kilometers of asphalt and dirt alleys and paths with benches for rest are laid. The architecture of the park successfully combines natural conditions: riverbed, flat valley, gentle slope. There are magnificent sculptures and fountains in the park, among which the allegorical artistic composition of the Night and Rachel Fountain (late XIX century) stands out.
