Khabarovsk Circus

One of the youngest circuses in our country is in Khabarovsk. It was opened only in 2001, but for ten years managed to host a huge number of touring circus artists from around the world. For the first time circus performances appeared in Khabarovsk in the early XIX century. Then they were irregular and were rare performances of visiting artists. Particularly popular among local residents were the circus troupes of I. Bondarenko, F. Izako and E. Pankratov, who performed in temporary premises and in chapito circuses. The first stationary circus building appeared in Khabarovsk thanks to the funds of A. Martini, who built the room and began to lease it to circus figures.

Circus Martini in the 20th century came the circus on Pushkin Street, but he had one significant drawback - performances could take place only in the summer. Khabarovsk Circus was built on Krasnorechenskaya Street as the first capital circus. In its structure it is unique, combining projects of Ussuri, Irkutsk and Yaroslavl circuses. From an architectural point of view, the circus building itself is considered the “pearl” of Khabarovsk.
