About the company:

Khabarovsk Regional Theatre of Young Spectators is a children’s theater founded in 1944. Since 2006, it has been included in the Khabarovsk regional association of children's theaters together with the regional puppet theater.

In 1940, during a tour of the Far East, the actors of the troupe of the Leningrad New Theatre decided to create a Young Spectator Theatre in the city of Khabarovsk. Work on its creation continued after the departure of the troupe. The grand opening of the theater took place on June 11, 1944. The first performance was the production of “The Siege of Leiden”, performed on the play of the same name by I. Stock, which has a patriotic theme. In honor of the 40th anniversary of the Komsomol organization of the city of Khabarovsk, in 1961, for great work on aesthetic and moral education, the theater was named after the Lenin Komsomol.

Khabarovsk Regional Theatre of Young Spectators occupies two buildings located in the historical center of the city. Both buildings are objects of cultural and historical heritage. These are the Public Assembly Building, built in 1901, and the Krovyakov Revenue House, built in early 1899. The total capacity of the main auditorium of the theater is 247 seats.
