Khabarovsk

Leafy front pages

Description:

A walking tour of the historical part of Central Park acquaints with the birth of Khabarovsk, with those who stood at the origins of its foundation.

The park is the same age as the city. And since its foundation, it has been a favorite place for residents and guests. We will climb the Amur Rock, seeing which Nikolai Nikolayevich Muravyov exclaimed: "This is where the city will be!" And in 1891, in front of the cliff was erected a monument to the Governor-General of Eastern Siberia Count N.N. Muravyov-Amursky, which is the decoration of our park. The sculpture was cast in bronze in St. Petersburg according to the project of academician A.M. Opekushin.

In the middle of the 20th century, the park was repeatedly reconstructed. Alleys of the park are decorated with monuments and garden sculptures of different historical times. In 2007, the park was given a new name: it became the Park named after Count N.N. Muravyov-Amursky, and then changed its status to a natural monument of regional significance.

On our tour, we will leaf through the first, bright pages of the chronicle of the history of Khabarovsk, which is more than 160 years old.
