Zoo "Priamursky" (bus tour)

Description:

Far Eastern nature is unique, it is loved and admired. But not everyone can share their impressions of meeting the Amur tiger or red wolf. Often because they don’t have the opportunity. Now, thanks to the Zoo “Priamursky” named after V. P. Sysoyev, everyone has the opportunity to get acquainted with the inhabitants of the Far Eastern taiga.

Not far from Khabarovsk, just 10 minutes by car, there is a zoo "Priamursky" named after V. P. Sysoev. This is an unusual zoo. All his pets are inhabitants of the Far East. The zoo is inscribed in the natural landscape, the animals live in spacious enclosures, rather than huddled in cramped cages. No zoo animals have been taken from the wild specifically for captivity. But there are those whose survival in the wild for a number of reasons is not possible, and the zoo for them was a kind of island of salvation. Employees have repeatedly had to feed babies left without a mother. Every year the zoo receives more than 100 thousand visitors. The idea of its creation in Khabarovsk arose thirty years ago, but it was realized only in 2002. Then, six former pioneer camps were transferred to the Khabarovsk regional association of children and youth health and educational centers. On the territory of one of them - them. Lisa Chaykina - there are no buildings left over time. Here it was decided to create a zoo with an enclosure of wild animals. In October 2002, the Amur Zoo opened its doors to visitors. It was located in the area of the 2nd Voronezh, on the slope of a small hill covered with deciduous forest. A handsome Amur is leaking nearby. On an area of 5.8 hectares, spacious enclosures contain up to 60 or more species (about 150 specimens) of wild animals and birds at a time. Throughout the year, numerous holidays are held in the zoo: Tiger Day, Bird Day, Spring Awakening, Indigenous Peoples Day. Social events are also held, for example, dedicated to the Day of Protection of Children or the Day of the Elderly Person. To date, not all Far Eastern species of animals and birds are represented in the zoo. However, there is a prospect of expanding the areas and landscaping to create a botanical park, where the northern and southern species would coexist, which is peculiar only to the Amur nature.
