The Temple of St. Seraphim of Sarov

Russia, Khabarovsk Territory, Khabarovsk, St. Pacific, 167

Description:

The first stone in the foundation of the church was laid on the Seraphim Hill in the Northern District of Khabarovsk on August 1, 2003, on the day of the 100th anniversary of the canonization of the wonderworker. The consecration of the temple took place on the eve of the 150th anniversary of Khabarovsk, May 29, 2008. He consecrated the temple and held the first divine liturgy, Archbishop Mark of Khabarovsk and Amur.

The construction of the church of Seraphim of Sarov was carried out exclusively on donations from organizations and individual citizens. The temple was built in a measured manner, without traditional pomp and increased public attention, which accompanied the construction of some such religious objects of the regional center. And this is right, for the holy work does not tolerate vanity and excessive parade.

The author of the project of the temple of Seraphim of Sarov is the famous Khabarovsk architect Alexander Mameshin, who took as a basis the classical style of Russian Orthodox architecture. The snow-white appearance of the squat temple, crowned with golden domes of the church and the bell tower, is devoid of pretentiousness and grand pomp - it is rationally elegant, strict and solemn. The temple was built on voluntary donations.
