Temple of Seraphim of Sarov
Russia, 680042, Khabarovsk, str. Pacific, 167
Description:
The temple of Seraphim of Sarovsk in Khabarovsk was built on donations of enterprises and individual citizens. Fundraising and leisurely construction lasted five years. The church was opened in 2008 in honor of the 150th anniversary of Khabarovsk. It is located near the Pacific State University, in the forest park zone. The author of the building is local architect Alexander Mameshin. He took as a basis the style of Pskov-Novgorod medieval style.
The idea of building a temple in these places arose in the 90s of the last century, after several believers witnessed the appearance of St. Seraphim of Sarov in the local forest. They told Bishop Innocent of Khabarovsk about this. He ordered to put a bowing cross to the saint, and then began collecting donations for the church. The temple was made white, without unnecessary jewelry, with a golden dome.
