Description:
Khabarovsk Regional Park named after N.N. Muravyov-Amursky in the XIX century was a natural city garden, and today it has become a monument of nature of regional significance.
The total area of the park reaches almost 79 hectares.
The park is located in a picturesque area on the banks of the Amur, in the heart of the city, and is a wonderful place for relaxation and walks. Ecological and sightseeing excursions take place here, seasonal concerts and folk festivals in summer.
There are several architectural monuments in the park. One of the main attractions is the monument to the Governor-General of Eastern Siberia Count N.N. Muravyov-Amursky, established in 1891. The project of the monument by the sculptor A.M. Opekushin personally approved Alexander III, but in 1925 the sculpture was dropped from the pedestal and replaced by a statue of Lenin. In 1992, the monument was restored, and in 2006 its image was placed on the banknote of the Bank of Russia in denomination of 5000 rubles.
