Lenin Square
lenin Square, Khabarovsk, Khabarovsk Territory
Description:
The central square of Khabarovsk is Lenin Square, where the main city events and celebrations are traditionally held.
Initially, on the site of the current square was a city cemetery, which later turned into a wasteland. Over time, the wasteland was cleared and turned into Nikolaev Square, named after the emperor. In 1925, a monument to Lenin was erected on the square. In 1950, the square became one of the largest squares in the country, where mass events began.
Later, a large fountain was built on the square, disposing residents and guests of the city to rest. Now it has 8 small fountains with 6-meter pools. The most important buildings of the city are concentrated here: the administration building, the Civil Service Academy, the medical university, the Central Hotel, bank branches, hospitals and shops.
