Chegdomyn District Museum of Local Lore

Municipal budgetary institution "Intersettlement Chegdomyn Museum" is a structural subdivision of the Department of Culture under the administration of Verkhnebureinsky district, opened on September 10, 1977 to the 50th anniversary of the district.

The expositions of the museum are located in four halls: “Black Cube”, “Nature of the district, indigenous residents of the district”, “District during the Great Patriotic War”, “History of the district”.

The museum collection of the Chegdomyn Museum of Local History as of January 1, 2023 is 10,202 units of the main fund and 8,851 units of the scientific and auxiliary fund.

The museum annually hosts more than 22 stationary and traveling exhibitions.

For many years, the museum center "Museum and Children" has been operating under a special local history program. The center is engaged in primary school students of Chegdomyn village. The museum actively cooperates with preschool institutions, schools, technical school, enterprises and organizations of the district.
