A.P. Okladnikov Museum of Archaeology

ooh Turgeneva, 86, Khabarovsk, Khabarovsk Territory

About the company:

Archaeological Museum named after A.P. Okladnikov in Khabarovsk is absolutely unique. The museum has about 160 thousand archaeological objects, more than a thousand of which have no analogues not only in Russia, but throughout the world. The expositions of the museum tell about the history of the region and the original ancient cultures of the Amur region, who lived here in different periods of time. The most interesting artifacts are the archaeological monuments-petroglyphs of Sikachi-Alyan, Sheremetyevo scribes and finds from the first medieval settlements on this territory.

The archaeological fund is based on private collections of V.K. Arsenyev and A.P. Okladnikov. Today, the museum employees annually participate in scientific expeditions in the Khabarovsk Territory, which are organized together with foreign colleagues. For children, the museum is of particular interest, because in addition to inspecting windows with ancient relics, they can participate in unusual master classes, during which children will learn to write on birch bark, learn about the ancient writing of the Neolithic times, and also try to get fire without the help of lighters and matches.
