Kholm Municipal Natural Science Museum

About the company:

The basis for the creation of the museum was a collection of marine animals collected by the employees of the Sakhalin branch of TIIRO and transferred to the Kholm City Department of Culture. The main fund of the museum contains various collections of marine animals collected during scientific and survey work in the Seas of Okhotsk, Bering and Japan. The foundation of the fund is a unique collection of rare mollusks living in the waters of the Pacific and Indian oceans, as well as near the coast of Cuba, Zap. Africa. Of particular interest to visitors of our museum is the collection of samples of rocks of the Sakhalin region and the Far East, which includes a rare exhibit - a petrified tree from Shikotan Island.
