Yurkino Manor

Estate Yurkino (Istrinsky district, Moscow region), turn from the highway [M-9] on Mansurovo and Rakovo.

Description:

Yurkino Estate today is the Christmas Church, built at the beginning of the XVI century on the picturesque shore of Istra, as well as an elegant bell tower and the remains of a once dense flowering park.

The estate has been known since the XVII-XVIII centuries, it was owned by: Prince M. G. Romodanovsky, his daughter N. M. Saltykova, noblemen Velyaminov-Zernovy, Prince V. S. Dolgorukov and others. Since the middle of the XVIII century, the estate belonged to N. P. Obolensky, a noble prince. With him, a three-tier bell tower was added to the church and a refectory was erected. Fortunately, the bell tower has reached our days, the refectory was dismantled.

Under the son of the Pskov landowner N.D. Philosofov, estate and farm buildings were destroyed.

It should be noted that the Yurkov church became a role model for many masters of the XVI century: for example, similar buildings with walls completed with triphols are now found in Kolomna and Rostov the Great.
