Monument to Arkady of the North
Russia, Ivanovo region, Ivanovo, Station Square
Description:
Arkady Severny is a popular songwriter and performer in the middle and late twentieth century.
In his repertoire were songs mainly urban folklore, but he was able to win national recognition.
In June 2010, Arkady Severny was erected a monument in his historical homeland in the city of Ivanovo. The sculpture was installed near the intersection of streets on August 10 and Maria Ryabinina. The sculptor of the monument was Galima Dolmagombetova.
An interesting story is connected with the installation of the monument. Initially, there was to be a rose vase next to Severny, but for historical justice it was removed to emphasize the poet’s addiction to alcohol.
