House-Museum of the Tsvetaev Family
c. Novo-Talitsa, Tsvetaeva Street, 63, Ivanovo
About the company:
The museum is located in a wooden chopped house, where three generations of the Tsvetaev family lived for 75 years since 1853. Vladimir Vasilyevich (1819 – 1884) – priest, grandfather of the great Russian poet Marina Ivanovna Tsvetaeva, comes to Talitsa with his family and settles in the parish house, which is located on the picturesque bank of the Vergusa River. His children - Peter, Ivan, Fyodor and Dmitry - grew up worthy, educated, intelligent people, real sons of their Fatherland.
Each of them contributed to the education of Russian youth. The most famous of the brothers - Ivan Vladimirovich - the ideological inspirer and creator of the Alexander III Museum of Fine Arts (now it is the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts).
After the death of the Tsvetaevs, the house was nationalized and then transferred to private hands.
In 1988, the house was bought by the state from its former owners to create a museum. Its restoration has begun. At the same time, work was underway to collect exposition material. On May 18, 1995, International Museum Day, the house opened its doors to visitors.
Here in cozy halls the life of the priestly house is combined with the peasant way of life. Personal belongings, books, photographs give visitors the opportunity to feel the spirit of that time, to touch its relics.
Traditions are alive in the museum: Tsvetaev readings are held annually on the last weekend of May. These days you will be able to communicate with the descendants of the family, the creative intelligentsia, representatives of the Tsvetaev museums of Russia, local historians and other interesting people. Literary and musical living rooms, meetings with musicians, writers and poets are held. A good tradition has become to bring seedlings from cities, which, one way or another, are associated with significant events in the life of representatives of this glorious family. Now near the museum grow lindens, ash, juniper, poplar, birch, brought from Koktebel, Tarusa, Shuya, Elabuga, Bolshev, Yasnaya Polyana.
Here is the first Russian monument to Ivan Vladimirovich Tsvetaev.
