About the company:
Museum and exhibition complex of small arms named after M.T. Kalashnikov appeared on the cultural map of Russia in 2004. It immediately became a landmark of the capital of the Udmurt Republic - the city of Izhevsk, whose weapons history dates back more than two hundred years.
The museum rightfully bears the name of Mikhail Timofeevich Kalashnikov. It was in Izhevsk that the successful design solution of the AK-47 was embodied in mass production. At the Izhmash plant, all five generations of Kalashnikov family weapons were born in a special design bureau. Mikhail Timofeevich lived here all his later life, becoming an honorary citizen of Izhevsk and the Udmurt Republic. Together with G.N. Nikonov, E.F. Dragunov and V.A. Yarygin, he composes a glorious cohort of Izhevsk designers-guns.
The main exposition of the museum presents the national history, retrospective of production and new developments of small arms. All exhibition halls are equipped with multimedia equipment. In modern demonstration halls (firearm, pneumatic and beam-and-arbow ranges) you can choose various samples of historical and operational weapons.
The museum receives more than 160,000 visitors annually. These are children and adults, residents of Udmurtia, Russia, near and far abroad, participants in major international competitions, foreign guests.
