The city of Baltiysk is a naval base with a regulated visit, you must have a passport with you.
One of the first tourists who came to Pillau (now Baltiysk) was Peter I. Getting acquainted with the sights of this city, he saw a modern Swedish fortress, which he was extremely interested in and thoroughly studied. In 1703, in her image and likeness on the Hare Island at the mouth of the Neva River, the Peter and Paul Fortress was built.
And the Russian tsar himself was immortalized on the embankment of the modern city of Baltiysk. The monument to Peter I is located next to the symbol of the port city - a lighthouse that "winked cheerfully" Nobel laureate Joseph Brodsky in 1963. At that time, the correspondent of the Leningrad magazine stayed at the Golden Anchor Hotel, the walls of which are remembered by many famous people of the Soviet Union.
You will have the opportunity to follow the footsteps of Peter I and visit the Baltic Fleet Museum.
On the excursion from the "Amber mosaic" you can:

- Stand at the lighthouse, the oldest in the Kaliningrad region;

And, of course, a walk by the sea next to the majestic equestrian monument to Empress Elizaveta Petrovna, during whose reign for four years Pillau was part of the Russian Empire.
