In Kaliningrad almost completely preserved many defensive structures. After all, Koenisgberg was founded as a fortress city and for many centuries was strengthened from external enemies. It is the only place in the world where fortifications are concentrated in one city and are located at a short distance from each other: a whole chain of gates, towers, bastions, redoubts and forts. Especially for those who are interested in the history of fortification, we have developed an author's excursion route.
You will see: the bastion "Grolman" (sir. XIX century), the defensive barracks "Kronprinz" (1843-1848), the bastion "Obertheim" (sir. XIX century), the defensive towers "Don" (1852) and "Wrangel", Friedland Gate (1857), Brandenburg Gate (1657), Gate of the fortress "Friedrichsburg", "Fort No. 5 "King Frederick Wilhelm III".
