All the gates of Koenigsberg, which have survived to our days, were erected in the XIX century - architect Lieutenant-General of the Engineers - Ernst Ludwig von Astaire.
Thanks to his knowledge and artistic and aesthetic taste, the fortifier and architect E. L. Astaire built the gates of Koenigsberg in the direction of English neo-Gothic. The building material is a brick burned three times, which gave it the highest strength.
