Castles and Small Towns of East Prussia.
Description:
Find yourself in the walls of ancient buildings and plunge into the history of the region
I will introduce you to the past and present of small towns of the Kaliningrad region – we will visit the castles of Neuhausen and Tapiau, explore the former Velau and drive along the Long Bridge of the 19th century. Let’s talk about important people who have lived here or just been there. Knights, wars and religion. How people lived before and how people live on this earth.
Start your journey with a visit to the recently restored Neuhausen Castle, where you will immerse yourself in the history of the region and the castle.
Then we will go to Guards - former Tapiau. You will see a unique clock, a market square, built on the type of order cities, and a cozy cat courtyard. Explore the castle, which managed, as much as possible, to preserve its original appearance.
Let's go to Znamensk - Velau. On the Long Bridge, which was built in 1880, we reach the church of St. Jacob of the 14th century. I will tell you about the life of the village before and after the war, the creation of the model of Koenigsberg and its role in the storming of the city.
And at the end - a delicious lunch in the cafe "Farm Tyunin" at the confluence of the rivers Pregoli and Lava.
