Acquaintance with East Prussia

I invite you on an interesting trip to the east of the Kaliningrad region!

Our region is located in the center of Europe on the frontier between its eastern and western parts, this is the big one along which peoples moved, armies, where dramatic historical events played out that changed the fate of peoples. The communities we will visit have witnessed and participated in these events. Our route will allow you to follow the footsteps of this great story, remind you of the known and discover new. We will start the journey with a visit to Valdau Castle, where we will get acquainted with the history of East Prussia and the castle itself, learn about its inhabitants who live here at different periods of time, and also see household items used by residents.

Next, we will go to Gvardeysk, where there is the only well-preserved square in the region, built in the style of order cities, admire the castle of Tapiau, look into the “cat courtyard”.

Then we will go to Znamensk (Velau), where in addition to immersing ourselves in the history of several wars, we will taste a delicious lunch at the hospitable hosts in the cafe "Farm Tyunin". There we can also ride along the Lava River by kayaking or boat and see the “Znamensky Waterfall”. And if you still have strength and enthusiasm, we will continue the journey and visit the city of Railway (Gerdaouen), Pravdinsk (Fridland), looking on the way to the gateway of the Masurian Canal.
