Don's Tower
Description:
During the war, the Don Tower became the main point of defense against the attacks of the Red Army. It was possible to resist for a long time, but the Germans still carried the White flag, ending the fight for Koenigsberg. So it became part of Russia.
The massive Don Tower is named after the Prussian officer Don. He was not only a count, but also a general, a participant in the battle of Preusish-Elau. For many years, the Don Tower had no owner, so the state decided to transfer this historical value for the future of the largest Kaliningrad Amber Museum. It officially began receiving visitors in 1979. The tower is located on the shore of the Upper Lake.
Today, the Don Tower is a beautiful place, a real treasury of Russia, cultural heritage. The museum has an official website, so you can make a virtual tour without leaving home.
