The hunting estate of Kaiser Wilhelm

Russia, Kaliningrad region, Nesterovsky district

Description:

The hunting estate of Kaiser Wilhelm was designed by a famous Norwegian architect. On September 23, 1890, William II came to the forest, where he later decided to build his own hunting lodge on the territory he liked. The style of construction is native European, with wooden carved motifs and sculptural stucco. Also known as the Romten Manor, the hunting lodge of William II eventually began to be completed and decorated with animal statues.

In his refuge, the Kaiser arranged noble feasts, and held meetings with foreign guests from neighboring countries and cities. Such famous personalities include Nicholas II and statesman Sergei Witte.

It is worth saying that to date, the building has not survived, since most of the estate was moved to other places in Kaliningrad. One of these premises was located in the Central Park in Kaliningrad in the Nesterovsky district, which can be reached by bus or taxi from the center.
