Monument to Julius Rupp
Description:
The oldest monument to Julius Rupp is a historical value of the city of Kaliningrad. Julius Rupp was a public figure, a university professor and a rebellious preacher of the German Koenigsberg, and became famous for his abdication of the church due to divergent views. He was a representative of the liberal movement, he was responsible for the idea of creating an evangelical community.
The idea of creating a monument belongs to his granddaughter. The monument was erected in 1909, on the centenary day of the birth of this famous figure. However, the monument, which today adorns modern Kaliningrad, is a copy of the original, installed in 1991.
It is located on the famous island of Kant. It was recognized by the state only a few years ago when it was recognized as a cultural heritage of the country. Every day thousands of tourists visit this place, showing great interest in the past.
