Symbolic monument to Hermann Klaass

Description:

For a long time, German Klaass was the director of one of the historical zoos. He was its founder.

After the public figure retired, it was decided to erect a monument in his honor in the center of Koenigsberg.

The sculpture depicts a boy playing with lion cubs. The work was performed by the German architect Rosenberg. Now the zoo is located on the territory of modern Russia.

He could not survive the war in its original form, so a monument was found much later. Located in different places, for example, the pedestal was located near the kindergarten, and the sculpture itself in the building of Gosstrakh. At the end of the 20th century, it was completely restored, and now the historical value takes its rightful place.

Located at the address: Kaliningrad, Mira Avenue, Kaliningrad Zoo.
