The Liasha Bunker Museum

ooh University, 2A, Kaliningrad, Kaliningrad region, 236006

About the company:

The museum is housed in a former German underground bunker built in early 1945, which served as a bomb shelter for the headquarters of the German High Command. The length of the structure is 42 meters, width is 15 meters, located at a depth of 7 meters. It has 21 rooms. The shelter was electrified, equipped with a water supply, sewerage, fresh air and communication system.

The museum in the bunker was opened in 1968. The main part of the exposition is devoted to the storming of the fortress city of Königsberg by the Red Army troops from 6 to 9 April 1945. Here are 5 dioramas of Koenigsberg during the period of active hostilities to capture the city. The situation of the German headquarters on the eve of the surrender was restored in several premises.

On the evening of April 9, 1945, when the fighting continued only in the center of Koenigsberg, the Soviet command sent parliamentarians to the bunker to the commandant of the German garrison, General Otto Lyash. Here the surrender of the entire German headquarters took place together with the military commandant Koenigsberg.

How the events of the assault developed, how the German military headquarters built the bunker and what Soviet parliamentarians had to endure, you can learn when visiting the Bunker Museum.
