About the company:
The Kalinin Museum of Local History was opened on a voluntary basis on November 4, 1980. Since 1990 it has been a branch of the Saratov Regional Museum of Local History.
The collections of the museum number about 6 thousand items and contain collections of archaeology, numismatics, painting, documents and rare books. The exposition of the museum tells about the flora, fauna and history of the Kalinin land from ancient times to the present day. Of particular interest are collections about Kalinin countrymen: writer M.N. Alekseev; scientist-metallurgist, academician I.P. Bardin, sculptor D.F. Tsaplin; performer of Russian folk songs people's artist of the RSFSR Olga Kovaleva.
