The Church of the Assumption of the Most Holy Theotokos is considered the oldest monument of Przemysl and the highest work of ancient Russian architecture. It rises on a hill, on an old town. Now the temple is in a rather neglected state.
The four-pillar temple with five chapters and protruding three apses on three sides was surrounded by a gallery with two tiers. Over time, the side galleries and chapters were destroyed in the temple, a three-tier bell tower and a refectory were built.
Particularly valuable in the temple were the miraculous image of Nicholas the Wonderworker, the icon of the Lord Almighty, the Assumption Icon, the handwritten Gospel of the XV century, the Gospel of the old printed XVI century, the handwritten church charter of the XVII century, the bell of 1619.
After closing, a sausage shop was placed in the temple. After 1970, it collapsed.
