Hlustin Hospital
Description:
Khlustinsk hospital, built at the beginning of the XIX century at the expense of a nobleman from Mosalsk Khlustin, is a magnificent institution that treated victims of the Patriotic War of 1812, the Balkan War, etc.
The construction of the hospital under the leadership of the serf architect Kashirin was completed in 1809. Ten years later, two more stone outbuildings were erected near the main building of the hospital under the leadership of the architect Sokolov, later a two-storey building.
The hospital employed many enthusiastic doctors who devoted their lives to the development of healthcare in Kaluga. Krichevsky, Krasintsev, Vusovich and others worked here.
Also on the territory of the hospital was the church of Alexander Nevsky with a bell tower. In 1888 the temple was renovated. Also, judging by the development plan, a wooden chapel worked at the hospital, in which the dead were buried. Today, unfortunately, the temple at the hospital is not preserved.
The hospital is now operational.
