Park of the Yanovsky estate in the city of Kaluga
terepetskoe Ring Street, Kaluga
Description:
The park of the Yanovsky estate occupies an area of 33.5 hectares. On several sides of the park are mixed coniferous and broadleaf forests.
Today, only a few outbuildings have survived from the estate: a cellar and a stable. The wooden house was dismantled in 1994. The park still has old lime alleys (the age of the trees reaches 150 years), fruit-bearing cedar and two large larchs.
The park also houses a fruit garden planted in 1940. From the western winds, the garden, which is divided into two parts by a lime alley, protects the hawthorn.
Now the Yanovsky Park is a natural monument of local and regional importance. Unfortunately, this monument of nature often suffers from the wheels of motorists and lovers of kebabs.
