Monument to the Theatre Spectator

p. Theatre, 6, Kaluga

Description:

The monument to the theatrical audience is considered the first monument in the world dedicated to the theatrical audience. Since there are many monuments dedicated to directors and actors, but not to the audience, the residents of the city quickly filled this gap. The bronze sculpture was installed on the Theatre Square next to the theater on April 2, 2008.

The sculpture is a girl holding a sign that reads: “Is there an extra ticket?” More than 515,000 rubles were collected for the installation of the monument by local residents and guests of the city.

The idea of creating a monument belonged to the director of the Kaluga Regional Drama Theater Alexander Krivichev, and the performer of his idea was the sculptor Svetlana Farnieva. The bronze sculpture of the girl was cast at the Mytishchi plant of artistic casting.
