Kozlovsky Manor
village Baryatino, Meshchov district, Kaluga region
Description:
The estate of the princes Kozlovsky in the village of Baryatino has reached our days in the form of the ruins of the main house, outbuildings, a theater and a church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God.
The building of the estate was built by Prince Kozlovsky in the second half of the XVIII century. Unfortunately, now it is difficult to imagine the former splendor and richness of the estate. There are reports that the estate was surrounded by regular gardens and a wide variety of outbuildings. Only fragments of the park and garden remain. There was a cascade of ponds in the park that are now down. All that's left is a dam and a bridge.
The prince in the XVIII century created a fortress theater, which performed not only in Kaluga and Meshchovsk, but also in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other cities.
Already in the XIX century, the estate was abandoned, so over time it collapsed.
Unfortunately, the ruins cannot be restored.
