Roswa Manor
rosva village, Kaluga district, Moscow region
Description:
The patrimony is very easy to find. It stands at the entrance to the village, right by the road. More specifically, what's left of her. Once it was an elegant building, built with taste and minimal decoration. Now it is a simple building of white brick. However, the romantic elements of the classical style remained.
Roswa's story is very interesting. The village in the region was formed in the XVII century. At different times, the owners of the estate were Colonel Shepelev, Chairman of the Moscow District Court Lavrov, landowner Zhukov. In 1885, the estate as a dowry passed to the last owner of Urusov, the governor of Tambov. There is a legend that he installed in the village a small plant for starch and molasses production, which is still operating. The politician lived in Rosva until the 1917 revolution. After that, the estate is considered abandoned.
