Shchepochkin's estate
polotnya plant, Dzerzhinsky district, Kaluga region
Description:
Shchepochkin Estate is one of the few architectural monuments in the Kaluga region, belonging to the XVIII century and preserved to this day.
The building was built in the style of Russian classicism. Surprisingly, the estate was practically not damaged during the Great Patriotic War. Its modern appearance and interior decoration date back to the 1800s. To this day, the ceiling painting is well preserved, imitating various stucco decorations. On the second floor, the rooms are painted with landscapes. The third floor was residential: there were rooms of children, hosts and guests.
In 2008, the Shchepochkin estate was transferred to the regional local history museum of Kaluga. In the same year it began to be restored. Since then, tours have been constantly held in the house.
