About the company:

The house-museum of A.L. Chizhevsky, an outstanding Soviet biophysicist, founder of aeroionification, heliobiology and electrohematology, poet and artist, was opened on February 7, 2010 as a department of the State Museum of the History of Cosmonautics named after K.E. Tsiolkovsky.

The museum was created in the house in which the Chizhevsky family lived from 1913 to 1929. In Kaluga, A.L. Chizhevsky made his first steps in science. Here he wrote hundreds of poems, dozens of scientific works and popular scientific articles, the literary treatise “Academy of Poetry” (1918). In Kaluga, Alexander met the great scientist K. E. Tsiolkovsky, who guided and supported the young researcher.

The exposition of the House-Museum of A.L. Chizhevsky gives an idea of the scientist’s difficult life path, his diverse scientific activity, artistic and poetic creativity, recreates the atmosphere of the memorial rooms of the scientist, his father, Leonid Vasilyevich Chizhevsky, and his father’s sister, Olga Vasilyevna Lesli-Chizhevskaya, who replaced Alexander’s early deceased mother.

Visitors have the opportunity to get acquainted with the Chizhevsky chandelier and its modern modifications.

In the observatory of the museum with the help of a modern telescope, you can observe the sun in the daytime, and in the evening - the starry sky. Excursions are accompanied by documentary and popular science films, as well as musical works.
