About the company:
The Kremenki Memorial Museum is dedicated to the great feat of our people who defended Moscow during the Great Patriotic War. Kremenki – Trinity – Bor – Ekaterinovka – Maleevo – these are shrines of soldier’s valor. It was from this point that the victorious march of the 49th Army to the West began. More than 18,000 defenders of our country died here. And in memory of them, on May 9, 1967, a stele was built on the picturesque Kremenko hill. It is written on it: “Years, centuries will pass, but forever will remain in the heart of the people the memory of those who gave peace to the world, earth peace, people happiness.”
The Kremenki Museum was opened on May 9, 1975. During its existence, it collected a collection of items belonging to the soldiers of the 49th Army under the command of Lieutenant General I.G. Zakharkin, and members of partisan detachments operating in the territory of the Zhukovsky district during the Great Patriotic War: weapons, uniforms, awards, photographs, documents, front letters.
Among the exhibits are a written order of the commander of the Western Front G.K. Zhukov on providing food to the 60th Infantry Division, which defended the city of Kremenki itself; a notebook of the political book of the company of the 60th Infantry Division F.D. Barsukov; a certificate of the war correspondent of the 49th Army B.N. Yaroslavtsev; a blood-stained Komsomol ticket of the ordinary ski battalion of the 49th Army A.V. Zotov, etc.
