The Engineering Ridge
Russia, Republic of Adygea, Maikop district
Description:
The Engineering Range is located in the heart of mountain Adygea to the east of the Lago-Naki plateau. This low mountain range does not offer any special attractions, but attracts tourists with the uniqueness of the landscapes, the solitude of the mountain nature and the unique nature of the North Caucasus.
In the middle of the twentieth century, industrial logging was carried out here. A narrow-gauge railway was laid along the ridge. Now there is almost nothing left of the narrow gauge, but passing along its former route you can see the most picturesque part of the ridge without making much physical effort. The walk will take you about two hours.
The trail begins from the bridge near the Trench. Along the way, you will have the opportunity to marvel at the richness and diversity of vegetation growing here - fir woods, herbal glades and blackberry and crimson trees occupying huge areas. Along the road there are many panoramic points with beautiful views of the Stone Sea Ridge and Trident Mountain.
