Description:
The Una-Koz Ridge is considered an unusually beautiful and interesting place of Adygea. A distinctive feature of the ridge is that it is dotted with deep and large grottoes.
The length of the ridge exceeds one hundred kilometers: it stretches along the White River to the Dakhovskaya station, then turns to the side and ends in Karachay-Cherkessi. Tourists who climbed to the top of Una-Koz open a fascinating panorama of the valley of the White and Lagonak highlands.
The name of the ridge Una-Koz comes from the ancient Greek language, and means "go and be afraid." This is due to the trade routes that previously passed here, which were attacked by robbers. In the rocks hidden many caves, where were found the parking of primitive people.
The most popular place among tourists on the ridge is the Rock of the Devil’s Finger. It is a lone stone pillar that suddenly appears on the horizon. Most likely, this shape of the pillar acquired as a result of rain and winds. Under the rock there is a destroyed cave and a glade for a halt.
On the way to the Devil’s finger rock, it is impossible not to note several more interesting places – these are huge boulders, the cleanest spring and the Devil’s Arch – a large, well-passed cave. In summer, on the way to the rock, you can feed yourself with hazelnuts and kizyl, and in autumn with wild pears and apples.
