Kamensky Museum of Local Lore was established in 1969 on the initiative of veterans of war and labor. Located in an old two-storey building, which is a monument to Istria. The main object of the exhibition is the three-century history of Kamensk, which testifies that human life and activity cannot be considered outside the natural environment that affects the way of life. The expositions are built in an enlarged, problematic way, on local material with the highlighting of the most significant periods in the history of the city from the emergence of the Kamensky town on the mutual charter of the Military Circle in 1671 to the city - the regional center in 1953 with the construction of the largest complexes of the chemical industry and environmental problems arising in this regard - the depletion of natural resources, critical violations of the quality of the environment. Near the museum on Labor Square there is a memorial complex, which includes a sculptural group, a tank on a pedestal, plates with the names of the Civil War heroes buried here, food squads, underground workers and the inhabitants of the city tortured by the Nazis, as well as a plate with the Eternal Fire. The authors of the complex: architect L.V. Kuznetsov, sculptors A.H. Jlaukhyan and Y.V. Shubin. The memorial was opened on May 9, 1971. Monument - tank T-34 with a guard sign on the turret, tail number 62 and the inscription "Tambov kolkhoznik" was installed on the memorial complex on May 9, 1990.
