About the company:

The Karachev Museum was established in 1979 and was originally housed in two rooms of the district House of Culture. In 1988, the museum was given a separate building in the city center, where it is located to this day.

The exposition and funds of the museum contain more than 8 thousand exhibits that acquaint visitors with the history of the region. These are archaeological monuments that give an idea of the life of people in ancient times, objects of labor and life of peasants of the late XIX - early XX century, photographs of churches and monasteries of the Karachevo district, books and icons, relics of the war years and much more.

It is here that you can learn about one of the ancient cities of Russia, which was mentioned in the chronicle of 1146; listen to a fascinating story about the hoard of coins, which refers to the XVIII century, as well as the remains of the temple of the XII century.
