The Church of John the Forerunner
Description:
This highest church in the city was built in 1740-1752 on the site of a wooden parish church on Cathedral Square. Since 1994 it has been part of the Kargopol Historical, Architectural and Art Museum-Reserve. In 1996 it was transferred to the Arkhangelsk and Kholmogorsk diocese.
