Bridge on the Churiega River
Arkhangelsk region, Kargopol, Russia
Description:
The bridge on the Churyega River is an old automobile-pedestrian bridge, an important transport object for those wishing to visit the sights of the nearest village - Pogost, the Alexander Oshevensky Monastery or the Church of George the Victorious.
Churiega Bridge is located north of Kargopol, in the southwestern part of the Arkhangelsk region, in northwestern Russia. It is a small, fairly wide, wooden bridge that relies on powerful log rods. Hence its second name – the bridge. This is a beautiful sight of the Arkhangelsk region, which tourists like to visit and photograph. It was built to improve transport interchange between settlements that are shared by the Churiega River.
In January 2013, it was decided to overhaul the road bridge, which should be completed before October 2013, since the Churiega Bridge is currently in disrepair.
