Bilar was one of the largest and most beautiful cities in the ancient world. Only Baghdad and Constantinople surpassed it in size. It was decorated with gates of pure gold, protected by a giant citadel from enemies, and its luxurious palaces and temples were not inferior to the fabulous buildings of Samarkand.
