Kazan is Jewish

Jews appeared in Kazan during the time of Nicholas I and were remembered by Kazan residents by the creation of the Bolshoi Theatre, the pioneer rabbi, numerous medical offices and private clinics. In 1915, a prayer house was opened in Kazan, in which the Teacher’s House, a children’s theater worked in the Soviet years, and in which today the museum of the Jewish community of Kazan operates.
